Artist bio:
Derrick Hickman is a trained
artist with more than 15 years
experience in the mural field.
He graduated with a Bachelors of
Fine Art in Illustration from the
Columbus College of Art and
Design in 1991. In 1997, he
earned a Bachelors of Fine Art
from Ohio University in Art
Education.
After college, Derrick worked
with a large New York based
mural company for several years.
The experience gave him the
opportunity to work with a
diverse range of commercial
clients. The challenges of the
commercial mural field helped
him hone his ability to work in
various styles, mediums and
schedules.
Canvas was born out of his
desire to have a streamline
studio that could handle both
large and small projects. One
with an emphasis on creative
problem solving and exciting
design.
